"Mocking Statement: Did I hear air escaping? My audio receptors detect a wheezing"
This article contains spoilers to the game!

Dxun is the second planet that the Player visits during the main quest. However, it may be rather tough to explore as the enemies there are usually met on higher levels in vanilla KOTOR 2. The map is almost the same as in the original game but sometimes this only rises the difficulty of exploring as some changes can easily confuse the new player. This article is dedicated to the tactics of Dxun walkthrough. All the moves were made on maximum difficulty level.

Necessary items and Force abilities[]

  • One medpack
  • Tsig's blaster (or any other blaster weapon. Tsig's. blaster is guaranteed to find on the Czerka ship at the very beginning of the game)
  • Burst of Speed power (you can upgrade it in the Tomb)

Recommended items[]

  • Some mines and a poison grenade (they are also guaranteed to find on the Czerka ship)
  • Some melee weapon for Tsig to let her tank your foes

General tips[]

  • Save the Tsig's blaster for yourself. It will be your most effecient weapon on this planet.
  • Don't use armor as there are no Jedi robes or armor that doesn't prevent you from using some Force abilities.
  • Choose the Burst of Speed as your first Power.
  • Save as many medpacks, grenades, mines and other consumables as you can. They will be your Plan B. Also 1 medpack is needed in Freedon Nadd's tomb.
  • Loot and investigane everything, as usual.

The first stage: From the crash to the new ship[]

After the crash you need to proceed further in the caves, there are no obstacles there. But the first problem awaits you right after your conversation with Canderous. You need to find a way back to the caves. It is hard to notice but the path to the caves lies to the right of the gates to the jungle. You will notice the gatekeeper in red mandalorian armor near the gates. He can point to the path to the caves in his dialogue.

Caves1Caves2

In the caves you will encounter a unique mod enemy - the Young Cannok. It's a weaker version of a regular Cannok that still can dodge many of your attacks. It inflicts poison upon hit but that poison for some reason doesn't do any damage. There are only two of them in the cave and in the entire mod. Let Tsig tank that creature for you and shoot it with your Tsig's blaster. Use your map to navigate and explore the right path. You may accidentally walk to your crashed shuttle but now you can't make anything with it so turn around and choose the other path. You'll quickly leave the caves. Interesting fact: Young Cannok gives you 150xp on kill when ordinary Cannok gives only 125xp.

Move forward and you'll notice the lake with the landed ship ahead and the Freedon Nadd's tomb to the right. Search for action button near the lake to make characters notice the ship and start the dialogue.

The second stage: The tomb[]

After the dialogue you'll be teleported inside the tomb. You cannot enter it manually, only through the dialogue script. You need to speak with Freedon Nadd and start completing his challenge that consists of meeting with 4 parts of his: Skill, Flesh, Courage and Spirit. These parts can only be interacted with in the order listed, as one part will not appear before interacting with the other. On the screenshot you can see the rooms numbered in the necessary order. After speaking you'll get your first level up.

How to survive[]

Take the Burst of Speed as your first Power. It is necessary for clearing out the Tomb. The trials of the Sith Lord are not the only obstacles there. There are a lot of ordinary Cannoks that can dodge almost every attack of Doctor. There your Tsig's blaster reveals itself as the most efficient weapon on Dxun. The descent to the Freedon Nadd room is equipped with a fence. If you are on the descent, it is possible to shoot at enemies, while behind the fence they will not be able to move. Such an exploit will help you to clear out the entire tomb. Attack a Cannok, use Burst of Speed, run to the descent and leave a Cannok behind the fence. Kill it. Repeat until there are no enemies.

The Trials of Freedon Nadd[]

Moving to the trials, your first opponent is Skill (that has the same model as the Freedon Nadd himself). He has 8HP and low defense, so you can kill it in one shot. He fights with his fists and don't have Force abilities.

The next enemy is Flesh, the only difference between it and Skill is its high HP that goes beyond the HP bar for some reason. That's a bug, don't pay attention to it. Flesh can be killed with the same fence tactic. Flesh also dodges your attacks much better than previous enemy but it's still only the matter of time before you finally kill it. The only real obstacle there is unavoidable and invisible poison mines on the way to this enemy. You can survive the mines by using 1 medpack when your hp is low. Flesh will attack you only after the dialogue, so it's recommended to wait until the poison is gone.

The next trial is the trial of Courage. Slowly move to its room and you'll notice a bunch of deadly frag mines on your way. Wait a few seconds and move right through the mines, they'll not kill you. The trick there is that you'll die if you step on the mines before noticing them. Interesting fact: in the tomb your awareness will scriptly reach 12 level to make your character able to notice the mines. Speak with Courage, and move to the final part.

The final trial is the trial of Spirit. It's the only part of Freedon Nadd that doesn't have his model. Spirit trial is presented as the man without a head. You will get three options of the dialogue, the first finishes the trial without a fight, Spirit will just disappear. The other 2 options lead to the fight. Spirit fights with red double-bladed lightsaber, can reflect the Player's shot back to him, deals very high damage but has only 2 HP. Killing Spirit gives the Player 225 XP. Remains contain its lightsaber and sith power gauntlets which is a good boost at the start of the mod. But it's necessary to save before the fight as if you deal 1 damage to Spirit, it disappears.

After completing the trials speak with Freedon Nadd in his room again and start fleeing from the Tomb. You'll encounter many copies of Freedon Nadd, they have many HP and life regeneration but disappear after one shot. They move slowly, so it's not necessary to fight them as you won't get any XP or loot. Proceed to the exit.

The third stage: Salvaging the ship[]

After leaving the tomb speak with Tsig and return to the Mandalorian camp to gain access to the second part of the camp and to the jungle (Canderous will give you a camp key). You need to find 4 parts to salvage the ship: a map, a hyperdrive regulator, a reactor filter and a lower circuit booster. You can always speak to Tsig to remember what parts of the ship are left.

The Map[]

The closest part to you is a map, it is located behind the gates to the second part of the camp (Or "Inner Camp"). There you can find a Star Map from KOTOR 1, three containers (looking like a pile of rubble) near it and a workbench. It's recommended to craft some basic upgrades to your and your companions' weapons.

StarMap1InnerCamp1InnerCamp2

But there you also encounter 2 Young Bomas, they are original enemines from KOTOR 2. They are very hard to kill on low levels but there's an easy way. Leave your companions near the workbench and turn on solo mode. Make Bomas target and chase you to 3 Mandalorians in the first part of the camp. They'll fight Bomas and kill them. Mandalorians cannot be killed and you'll be given an XP for enemies.

The Hyperdrive Regulator[]

The second part is very safe to pick. Go back to the caves and to your shuttle, you'll not encounter any enemies on your way. The shuttle contains Hyperdrive Regulator.

Investigating and surviving Jungle[]

The other parts are located in the jungle. Speak with the gatekeeper to open the gates to this new location (or "Jungle Depths"). You'll encounter new mod enemies - Jungle Laigreks. They have medium HP, damage and dodge. With your companions they will not be a huge problem. The only hard fight there is optional - the fight with an adult Boma Beast. There are no immortal Mandalorians or glitchy fences nearby, so you must deal with such an enemy yourself. The only reward for this fight is 525 XP.

AdultBoma

To win place some mines nearby and let your companions be targeted by this beast, then start shooting. Many of your shots will miss, but you will eventually deal some damage. During the walkthrough you are guaranteed to find at least 1 poison grenade, use it when you see that your companions are at the death's door. Poison will remove half of the beast's HP in sum. Lure the beast to the placed mines and wait for the poison to finish it. Use the Burst of Speed to keep distance from the Boma. If mines and poison isn't enough, use frag grenades. If you play on Dark Side character, the Force Shock ability will also be good to finish the fight. Picking Shadow as a companion before the fight can also be helpful there. Also you can save some Level Ups to instantly heal during the fight.

The Reactor Filter[]

The third part of the ship is in Jawas' camp. Just speak to their leader, Ootata. He will give you the Reactor Filter.

Jawas

The Lower Curcuit Booster[]

The fourth part is located on the second jungle location (or "Deeper Jungle"). You can see the entrance place on the screenshot. There you'll meet Shadow and he'll become your companion. The game will allow you to replace Tsig or Canderous with Shadow. It's recommended to replace Canderous as Tsig can tell you what parts of the ship are left. Canderous, on the other side, is stronger and can be more useful to defeat an adult Boma Beast (which, again, is optional). Proceed through the location, kill a bunch of Jungle Laigreks and loot the last part from the wrecked swoop bike - the Lower Curcuit Booster.

Below is a screenshot of the Jungle Depths map with the Jawas, adult Boma Beast and entrance to the Deeper Jungle disignations. The green circle is the place where you fight Boma, the white one is the entrance and the red one is the Jawas' camp.

The fourth stage: The finale[]

Return to the ship on the lake and speak to Ootata near it. The Dxun then will be attacked and you'll be teleported back to the Mandalorian camp. There will be just 1 enemy - the Screamer. It may not attack you first but you need to kill it to proceed further. Screamer has rather low hp and damage but can reflect your shots so it is worth changing your weapon to lightsaber or some other sort of melee weapon. After killing the Screamer, you'll be scriptly teleported to your ship which can finally leave this moon.
